Maintenance Free Bearings (Patented)
Characteristics: Embedded solid lubricant (graphite/MoS2) in raceway grooves; self-lubricating matrix; patented sealing for particular application.
Advantages: Lifetime >10,000 hours in dry vacuum or cleanroom where standard grease outgasses. Zero lubrication cost for 5 years in semiconductor equipment.
Technical Ceiling: Max speed 3 m/s surface speed; load limit 25% of standard grease bearing (contact pressure ~500 MPa); operating range -100°C to +250°C.
Caution: Cannot replace standard bearings under heavy load or high speed (>4 m/s). The solid lubricant film does not replenish if overloaded – catastrophic dry metal contact occurs. Must derate load by factor 4.
